Easy easy

I cant get over the feelings I am having here.

First off being alone when I want to is so nice. I can go anywhere and be completely alone, its refreshing.

The friendships you build here are so intense though. Its indescribable.

We all have known each other 10 days and I feel like I have known these people my whole life, they are apart of me.

I always heard people talking about traveling abroad and I never fully got why they made it seem like the best thing in the world- I get it now.

My spirit is alive, its thriving, I'm on such a energy flow here. Seeing the world is what life is about.

Ive had so many moments here where I stop and I'm like this is so fucking beautiful. These moments and these people. How did I get so lucky?

We had a party at Ted and Nicolette's flat the other day. There were like 15 of us and it was a dream. I don't think  there was one moment where I was full on belly laughing.

The best way I can describe traveling abroad is expanding, and in every way possible. My mind, my comfort zone, my knowledge, my friend group, and my heart.

It makes all the problems and situations you had going on back home so irrelevant. I don't want to live my life any other way then how I am doing it.

My best Mate here is Euan for sure. He would hate that I'm blogging about him but he's a wanker and can deal with it ( Fuck off mate)

Our relationship is so strange. Ive known him 10 days and it feels like the saddest thing in the world thinking about saying bye to a friendship like the one we have. Our friend group calls us and old married couple. I don't think one day has passes where I have not seen him.

We just banter 24/7 its back and forth and so funny. It is so natural we never have to force conversation. He makes my heart so happy. The main reason I keep him around is because he cooks for me and feeds me when i'm dead hungover ;)

I feel like my blog post cant even explain what I am going through and that they sound all exactly the same, the point is- I most certainly won't be returning home the same person I was, and that right there is studying abroad.

Because I got high

The past few days, with the main group I hang out with here, have just been a series of trying to do things like socializing, and getting our lives together while being shit high.

We smoked a ton these last two days, I mean it's legal here in the netherdlands and it's such a weird feeling to be able to smoke anywhere you want here.

Yesterday we tried to get Nicolette a bike, and sign there papers for there apartment.

These two task took us all day because we were high and messing everything up.

Nicolette had to bike back home for a hour on a broken bike, and it broke while riding back, and she got lost and her phone died. It was so funny but she made it back.

We went to the park and smoked and ran into this old hippie guy who was talking about conspire theories and life and being anti war and we were too high to repairs and it as so funny.

Then we went back to one of our houses and tried to make pasta high and it was such a good moment.

we started cooking in this super vintage hippie zen Airbnb and making veggie pasta we were so high and laughie we couldn't get anything done.

It was such a warm and beautiful moment. these people I've known 5 days already feel like the best people I could ever met. I feel so lucky to have this experience where i get to feel alive and happy and see things. This is what expands our minds and helps us see that life is such a thing to be grateful for

Then today after my first day at uni we grocery shopped and then smoke two joints. We were all sitting there peeing our pants over anything. Conversation was so little because one person would say one thing and we would all laugh again for 10 minutes.

Then we got Indian good and it was heaven.

Hannah walked to Ted and Nicolette's place and I rode my bike so I drove her on that back of my bike with her sitting on the end thing that Dutch bikes have.  Which is way harder than it looks! A did it the whole way home! 15 minutes of her on the back it was such a workout we a almost didn't make it going up the hill. We were so proud of ourselves

We felt so Dutch. The Dutch do some crazy shit with there bikes.

Scheveningen beach

Today I, along with most of my friends were feeling like complete shit. We've been partying for days.

Euan, Hannah, and I were going to get lunch. Euan had the idea of heading to the sea.

I had such a relaxing day. We sat at this Spanish style restaurant with wooden furniture and bright red and orange and yellow decor.

We got tapas, drank fresh sangria, and soaked up the sun and sea air.

These are my people because we don't have to work for convo, and we spend the whole day in complete happiness.

( Euan being so nice to me like always)

We put our feet in the sand and water, we checked out the town a bit, and headed home to get even more day drunk with our housemates.

Im already so in love with so many people. I don't think I'm going to be able to leave. There is something so beautiful to me about being away from everything at home.

( left to right:
Nicolette, Hannah, and holly)

( Nicolette and safa)

This week has been insanely busy. Constantly hearing new information, seeing new people, and trying to figure it out.

( Ginnie and Ted)

It doesn't exhaust me too much because it is all apart of that experience.

(Nicolette)

I have my classes scheduled and my room all settled. I'm officially ready for classes to start on Monday! I think it's going to be so nice to meet more people.

( Alex, Hannah and I)
I've met so many amazing people so far. I've only known these people 4 days and hey already feel like family.

( Hannah )

I can only imagine all the adventures we are all going to have together during this time.

( Shannon and I)

I look forward to all the moments and experienced I'm going to grow from.

( Euan- it's mi lad)

Studying aborad was the best decision I have EVER made.

( more Ginnie)

(And even more Nicolette)

I can defiantly tell that Nicolette and I are going to be best friends. We just get eachother and she is absolutely lovely.

About last night

Yesterday was the ending of orientation and there was a big party planned. It was for all the students at the university, not just the exchange students.

Nicolette, Ted, Phillip and I pre gamed together by illegally drinking beer on a bench in the city center. I guess they take that really serious here.

We discussed mainly sex, and how to roll cigarettes.

Then we went to the " oh oh no festival" I'm not sure what that name is suppose to mean.

Once we got there we were already pretty well into some beers.

There were a bunch of booths you could go to to take pictures, eat, and drink

I was surprised by how much fun I had there. Usually university parties arnt that great but this was fantastic.

We danced to the DJ the whole night. The whole group was just sweaty, drunk,  and having the time of our life

By the time we were leaving that festival I was piss DRUNK and fell like 3 times.

We walked around to find the city center with all these lights and places to sit and have some beers. Europe is so beautiful.

The night was filled with hugs, kisses, and compliments.I feel so lucky to have formed the group of friends we have going here. Everyone in the group is so kind, funny, and loving.

This is studying aborad. All of us are already talking about how much were going to miss each other, and we have only just arrived.
