Museum of Sex

I started our third day off in NYC by sitting in the little coffee shop below us, and reading my book. I love being able to start my mornings like this. While I am busy with school and work I always say I want to more "me time", then most of the time when i have the time I don't do those things. So I am happy with myself and the dedication I have been putting into the lesure activities I said I would do. Anyways... back to my third day in the big city.

We started it off my going to the Museum of Sex. Instead of taking the train right to the Museum we got off at union Square, which is about a 15 minute walk to our destination.

I am so glad we did, union Square is probably one of my favorite areas of New York so far. Its very hip, and chic. Lots of cute farmers markets, bookshops, an cute boutiques. It was lovely to stroll through.

The Museum of Sex was so much fun, one of my favorite Museums I have been to so far in life. It was very interesting. They had a level that was a stimulation level and you were able to go into a tent full of mirrors, or a tent that would light up depending of the level of heat between you and the person in the booth. The best part of the Museum was the Jump for joy bouncy house. It was full of large, inflatable breast. Raeanna and I had a blast jumping around the breast!

Then we headed to Grand Central station! It was really cool to be able to see it after seeing it in so many movies!  It was huge!

Next on our list was the High Line. It is a New York Linear park. It was built in Manhattan on an old Central Railroad track. It was nice to see all the nature growing through the tracks; reclaiming itself. It over looked the Hudson River and the Chelsea District.

Underneath the High Line is, The Chelsea Market. The Chelsea Market is an urban food court, and market. The vibe of the market is incredible, very hipster and charming. It was filled with shops like, Anthropology, and fresh food markets.

It was another day where we fit a bunch into our day, our days feel long, an sucessful here,  I love it. Not wasting one moment.

Subway Queens

After our late night last night Raeanna and I slept in then started our day around 11. We headed to Manhattan. We bought a week pass for the MTA. We used all sorts of trains and busses today,  I was really proud of how well we worked with the public transportation. I find that stuff really fun. I love the subway and buses.

We started our day at Central Park. We walked around and took some nice pictures.

We then randomly decided to walk into this restaurant, The Barking Dog, to eat. It turned out to be this really cute, authentic restaurant that was used in filming an episode of sex in the city! We had a lovely breakfast there.

Then we walked to the Rockefeller center to see the ice skating rink and the big tree!

We saw the New York palace hotel, that is used in the first season of gossip girl a lot, which is a show Rae and I both really enjoy.

We got to walk along 5th street and look at all the famous shops like sacs and jimmy cho. We're gonna go back to 5th street for a shopping day! On our way home we were able to see some great street performers, dancers and singers. I love that kind of stuff! I love seeing the local talent and the raw talent.

Today was tons and tons and tons of walking/ definitely got a great leg work out! I feel like Rae and I have for so much into our very first day, we travel so well together! Nothing but good moods, and easy going attitudes! We are really getting all we can out of this trip. I am loving NYC so far.

NYC- December 28, 2015

Today at 3 am Rae and I left for our journey to New York City! Once I arrived to the JFK airport I took a uber to where out Airbnb (cheap form of accomidation where you stay at people's places when they are out of town). Since I was 2 hours early in advanced to when Rae was going to arrive, I sat at the cute, local coffee shop below our Airbnb. It was called, little Zeldas. I befriended the barista, Doris, and we hit it off instantly. I was there with her for three hours. we talked about our lives, traveling and all the works. She had lived in NYC her whole life and is an inspiring actress! Cool fact, she went to high school with ansel, the actor from the fault in our stars!  She invited us out tonight with her friend, James Daniel. We went out to eat to this cute, little taco restaurant called, kimchi tacos. It was devine, spectacular food. We stayed here for a while chatting, laughing, and really getting to know eachother! Our first New Yorker friends! We then walked to this pub right by our apartment. It's called crown inn. It was a very warm, cozy, inviting environment. I had this delicious, local cider, decendant cider. Before we knew it we were feeling buzzed. I went outside for a cigarette where I met these two, nice gentlemen that I mistaked for being gay! We all laughed about it and soon our other friends left and it was just Rae and I and these two guys. We sat at this intimate booth that was lite by candlelight. I was in deep conversation with Nicolas, the adorable, man bunned Colombian. We talked about music, feminism, sex, books, documentaries. It was very nice. For the first time I didn't focus on whether the guy sould like me or though I was cute enough, I let go of my insecurities and just was me. It worked beautifully for me. After hours of conversation we ended the night both expressing how much we appreciated meeting eachother and how stimulating the company was. Spectacular first night in Brooklyn.
